This case study details the successful summer refurbishment of Moberly’s House, a four-story student boarding house in Clifton, undertaken by the Kitto team. The project focused on enhancing the building's functionality and comfort for residents while ensuring its continued longevity.

Scope of Works

The refurbishment encompassed several key areas:

• Toilets: A complete overhaul of the toilets throughout the building addressed any sanitation concerns and brought them up to modern standards.
• Corridors: The corridors received a refresh, likely including painting and potential minor repairs, creating a more inviting and well-maintained atmosphere.
• Kitchens: The refurbishment of the kitchens ensured they were well-equipped and functional spaces for student use.
• Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services Upgrade: Upgrading the M&E services improved the overall efficiency and functionality of the building's systems. This likely included works on heating, ventilation, lighting, and potentially plumbing.
• Damp Proofing Works: Targeted damp proofing addressed any moisture issues within the building, safeguarding its structural integrity and ensuring a healthy environment for residents.
• Light Bedroom Refurbishment: Select bedrooms received a light refurbishment, potentially including painting or minor repairs, to enhance their overall condition.
